Removal ‘Value’ Quip

Boxes of Stuff

We have discovered over the years that each industry has it’s very own standard ‘lines’. In travel it’s things like ‘we’re down to the last 2 rooms in that hotel…‘ and in retail it’s ‘shall we take that to the till…‘ My family recently moved house – apparently one of the THE most stressful things you can do. Our new house had previously been furnished by beautiful Georgian and Regency furniture. As our old tat began to fill up the dining room I remarked to one of the removal men ‘this house used to be full of beautiful furniture – ours is ‘rustic’ to say the least..‘ he came straight back with; ‘I think the house appreciates the change!‘ – what a line! Immediately I felt better about the move and appreciated my excellent removal company still further! Some of you will say ‘he was hustling for a tip’ – frankly I don’t mind. It also made me realise that once you commit to something that is a service that takes time between booking, doing and finishing, these one liners help us along the way to satisfaction.

Here are my Top 3 Sales & Marketing Tips for maintaining ‘good feelings’ through an extended sales process.

  1. Don’t be afraid to contact people. When you have sold a service being delivered in month’s time don’t wait a month before speaking to the customer. Send them regular updates and remind them how efficient you are.
  2. Whilst the service is being delivered, what language could you use to make the customer feel certain they did the right thing in using you?
  3. When it’s all over, make doubly sure the customer is happy. That attention to detail will almost guarantee they’ll use you again.
