About Reality Training Ltd
Reality Training are in their 9th year of helping salespeople sell more, and supporting managers and leaders in getting the most from their teams.
We have been lucky enough to work with many household names including The AA, Thomson First Choice and Channel 5, as well as niche specialist organisations like United Business Media, Last FM, The IOD and Oddcast.
Our work is about helping people understand each other better so that they know how to sell and serve, and provide the best answers and powerful solutions.
You may want to improve the relationships your sales and customer service people have with your customers, or you might need to focus on the internal relationships in your organisation?
To be able to understand someone better, you need a number of skills which include being able to listen and ask the right questions, to help the other person think. To do this effectively you need the right approach. This involves choosing the environment, having the right tone, and being aware of your body language. When you have great conversations, you build strong relationships which give you great results. This means that you, and everyone you work with, are happier, your customers are delighted, and so is the financial director who sees the sales graph rocket upwards.
Bob Morrell and Jeremy Blake met in 1991 at Drama School in Oxford. Our acting careers didn't quite take the direction that we’d hoped, so in between acting work we were able to try an assortment of jobs, (see personal profiles), before finding one that truly replaced our love of acting. Having said that, our You Tube Channel RealityTrainingTV does provide a performance outlet.
One year when Jeremy didn't get a role as a fairy in a pantomime, he rang Bob who suggested he try his hand at selling. Jeremy joined John Good (theatre programme publishers), and sold a campaign to the Child Support Agency to have an advert on the outside back cover of every theatre programme they produced. A pantomime is often a child's first experience of theatre, and a good place to communicate with single parents - the campaign was an enormous success, and Jeremy realised the power of properly targeted marketing. Meanwhile Bob was having a successful career with leading firms including United Business Media, Ziff Davis and Expedia.
Jeremy moved to Yellow Pages and it was while Jeremy was at Yell and renewing a large account that the opportunity arose for us to launch our first business, a marketing consultancy. The client wouldn't renew their advertising until they had handed over all marketing responsibilities to an agency. Jeremy called Bob, they turned up at one of the groups hotels and promptly won their first account. They won their first sales training client at the end of that year, The Oxford Times, and their sales and management training business was born.
Reality Training is Bob Morrell, Jeremy Blake and their office manager Ann Harris. Reality Business Marketing, the marketing consultancy, is run by Bob Atkins and Reality Search -Executive Recruitment is run by Rachel Montague and Tara Beckett.
